Parent and Child Nutrition Talk for Cricket Lovers Global

Healthy Med Easy have been running Mediterranean diet and lifestyle group classes since January 2023. These run on Wednesdays 12.30-1.30pm term time at St Barnabas Hall, Claud Ince Avenue, Cressing, Braintree CM77 8HJ. It costs £5 per session, on a pay as you go basis (a one of £5 registration is required in the first session). Plus, you can help yourself to hot drinks, and there is plenty of free parking available. Bring and Share is 26th April 2023. All are welcome.

On Saturday 22nd April 2023 (in the afternoon), Healthy Med Easy was asked to teach nutritional advice to the parents and children at a preseason cricket skill enhancement camp in Witham called Cricket Lovers Global. This new club was being held at Maltings Academy, Spinks Lane in Witham. For more information check out (3) Cricket Lovers Global | Facebook.

The lesson objective was to provide base knowledge nutrition by introducing the five key food groups; fruit and vegetables, starchy carbohydrates, fats and oils, protein and dairy. It was a really fun session that included a hands on activity, plus interactive video and quiz. Freebies were handed out to include; notebooks, colouring, keyrings and crayons. A take home activity promoting being adventurous with eating healthy food was also provided with the incentive of a reward in October if completed and handed in.

Certificates were handed out by myself (Amanda Harrison RN) to the students at the end of the day to congratulate them for doing well at the Cricket Lovers Global Camp. It was thrilling to see them and their parents being so proud of their achievements.

Cricket Lovers Global will be starting weekend hard and softball cricket classes at Maltings Academy in October 2023. I am pleased to say that Healthy Med Easy have been asked back to do more nutrition talks later in the year.
